Concepts of Truth International Travels to China!

Concepts in China

Millie Lace, Founder & Director of Concepts of Truth International recently had the opportunity to visit China June 16 – July 5, 2016. She visited Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Zhangjiajie, Jishou, Sangzhi and Sangzhou.   Millie was the guest of Linxiang Zhu, PhD from Georgia.  Linxiang is best friends with Ivy Meredith, a local Wynne resident and accompanying translator with Linxiang for Concepts of Truth’s recovery curriculum.  Ivy & Linxiang translated Concepts of Recovery The Journey into Mandarin Chinese.  The curriculum is now available on Amazon and Christian Book Distributors and addresses the grief after abortion with lessons and interventions for recovery. The curriculum was written by Concepts of Truth’s staff members.

“I never dreamed I would ever visit China,” says Millie Lace, Director.  “The trip was an amazing opportunity to not only see the beautiful sites like The Southern Great Wall, but to build relationships with people on the other side of the world, live in their culture and promote awareness of Concepts of Truth’s resources.”  I met teachers, doctors, social workers, and other professional community leaders.  All were so kind, generous, and interested in our work, Lace said.  “I got to speak at a local high school, a church, and also to the Focolare NGO community group in Hong Kong.”  An NGO is a non-governmental organization accredited at the United Nations.  Concepts of Truth International recently obtained NGO consultative status with the Economic & Social Council at the United Nations.

One meeting that was organized in Zhangjiajie, China was sponsored by a former English teacher and included Ivy and Linxiang’s former classmates.  “After Linxiang and I spoke to the group, I was invited back next year with all expenses paid to speak to the Jishou University students.  I was blown away,” Lace said.  Lace said Concepts of Truth is planning on developing an internship program for their work at the United Nations and is hopeful that students from China, as well as the United States, will be able to participate.  This past spring, Concepts of Truth presented at the annual Conference on the Status of Women at the United Nations in NY involving a youth panel and drama group.  The youth presented on human trafficking, domestic violence, abortion consequences globally, education, and men’s roles in relationships.  Representatives from 16 different countries attended the presentation.

“No doubt, we are expanding our borders at Concepts of Truth, says Lace.  The basic dignity of the human person is a universal human right that touches people worldwide and we are thankful that we can serve in this capacity.”

Concepts of Truth Celebrates its most successful banquet ever!

We had a great turn out in Wynne, AR, and via live stream Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Concepts of Truth International Fundraising Gala. We want to say a huge “Thank You” to all who attended and helped us Rejoice 15 Years of Faithfulness. The evening was a great time to do just that, Rejoice. It was our 15th annual Fundraising Gala, and we took a look back to see where we started and how we’ve grown with the help of our faithful supporters. We recognized our board, from those who have been with us from the very beginning, to the newest member who joined us this year. We heard personal stories and testimonies from our International Helpline, both from our staff who answer calls, to a previous caller, who is now a staff member. We shared about the work we’re doing in the schools with our Concepts of Sexual Health curriculum and about our Abortion Recovery Weekends, International Trainings and our recent UN youth panel event. Finally, we looked at our Mission and Vision to see where we are headed for our next 15 years. The mission of Concepts of Truth is to share God’s truth about life around the world providing counseling services, and a model for sexual health educating in abortion recovery and prevention to equip the whole person to make healthy life choices and empower future generations.

We want to extend a special thanks to all our table sponsors, Wynne High School Jr. ROTC, The Rose of Sharon for decorations, Curtis Lumber for donating supplies, and all the volunteers who helped decorate including the agriculture department and art department at Wynne High School. Lisa Love, Dr. Conner and Wynne Baptist Church who helped us stream our gala live for the very first time, THANK YOU! We were honored with the presence of two State Senators. Thank you, Senators Caldwell and Rapert for participating in our Gala. Millie Lace, Founder/Director, stated “We truly have much to Rejoice!”

We had a goal of raising $50,000 that surpassed any goal we’ve had before at our Gala…and we made it! Thanks to all who contributed, we raised a total of $51,907.65. Our one-time donations that night were $10,430, with $17,520 in total pledges over the next 12 months, and $23,957.65 from table sponsors and contributors. We are Rejoicing! Mark your calendars now so you don’t miss next year’s Gala, May 5, 2017.

Focus on The Family Endorses Concepts of Recovery The Journey

“I have personally reviewed Concepts of Truth International’s abortion recovery curriculum Concepts of Recovery: The Journey, and find it to be solid christianly and clinically. This valuable, well-conceptualized and well-written resource no doubt will be a powerful agent of healing, growth, and redemption to many persons hurting from their intensely personal stories of shame and trauma. It expertly yet compassionately addresses the pain and pathos of post-abortion recovery both directly and deeply. I recommend it highly.”

Concepts of Truth Supports Appeal of the Heartbeat Protection Act 12 Week Ban

When abortion became legal in 1973, women were told it was a safe, simple solution for their “problem.” But 41 years later, women know a different reality: grief, fear, anxiety, depression, drug and alcohol abuse, suicidal thoughts and attempts, nightmares, relationship problems with spouses and children, and other self-destructive behavior following an abortion...

Women gather to speak out on Abortion

2014, women across the nation are gathering at their State capitols and in Washington, DC to speak out about how abortion has hurt them and to warn others about the dangers and tragic consequences of abortion. Others, such as fathers, siblings, and grandparents will join them. Some of them will share stories of pain and healing through testimonies and others will attend to give support and prayer. The emphasis will be on abortion recovery and how it is beneficial to our nation in changing lives...
